In the six months since the Fatz Cafe in Winder, Ga., began testing VeriFone's TablePay wireless-terminal service that enables diners to pay at the table, executives at the restaurant chain say they have seen tables turn faster and servers become happier because of greater tip revenue.
But, says Steve Corson, Fatz Cafe's vice president of human resources and training, the company is still undecided about whether to roll out TablePay to the chain's 32 other restaurants. Part of the reason, he says, is because the company is unsure when VeriFone's wireless Vx670 payment terminal will be able to accept PIN-debit cards.
